focus with RECALL + distraction

Calm + Focus 2

in-studio class l 6 months+

cost $240 | 4 weeks

Do you wish your dog could chill out faster when they get over-excited? Do you wish they would come when called reliably from a distance—no matter what? If so, this 4-week Calm + Focus 2 course is for you!

In the second course of our Calm + Focused series, you’ll:

  • improve the ability for your dog to calm down quickly when excited and distracted

  • increase your “cool factor” so your dog chooses to connect to you instead of… :)

  • learn how to improve the component skills of a reliable recall and how to not accidentally ruin them

  • successfully regain calm and focus when you lose it!

This class is all about successfully implementing strategies to help your dog focus and come to you around temptations such as exciting dogs, gregarious cats, sniff spots and more! You can’t always control distractions, but you can prepare for them. Both preparation and practice are essential to mastering these difficult skills cooperatively and reliably outside. Together, we will gamify our connection so our teenagers look forward to us asking for them to come to us. In class, we will become critical thinkers, expand our training tools, and work toward successfully recalling our dogs off of sniff spots, other dogs, people, and all sorts of sights and sounds!

The goal: To incentivize your puppy to want to choose you over distractions, to get them to pick up their head and look for you when you are not near them…and to get you and your puppy well on your way to calm and reliable focus and recall success!

For best results: Take this course after Calm & Focus 1 and Social 2, and before or after Skills 2 - depending on the level of focus work your pup needs!
